Extra-Scentsory: Exploring Makeup from Fabled Fragrances

Share this:

A shop bearing the moniker “Fabled Fragrances” may seem an odd place to go for makeup, but this cruelty-free indie company uses scent and beauty together to remind us that history is still important in our modern era. Drawing inspiration from fables, myths, fantasy, horror, and literature, the brand weaves a tapestry of exotic colors and original scents that will inspire the imagination.

In this historical vein, their latest release is Victorian Grace, a set of moody neutrals that work well alone or with their other collections such as Smokey Gems, Lovecraft, and Wonderland. Fabled Fragrances boasts 13 loose eyeshadow collections in all, or you can put together your own Jarred Set. Shadows can also be bought individually. Every month they offer a new, limited edition Color of the Month. September’s COTM is Aether, a pale orange with strong teal shift. Shadows are available in 3-, 5-, and 10-gram sifter jars. Samples are also available for purchase.

Non-sticky Lip Gloss can top the Liquid Lipsticks or be used alone for a more ethereal look. Best of all, both products are available for sale in 1.5 ml tubes, so you can sample before buying full-sized.
